I don't believe in God. Or, more accurately, I don't believe that God is an old white guy that lives in the clouds, listens to everyone's whining (er, um, I mean prayers) and makes decisions on what happens to everyone everywhere. I don't believe that everything that happens is the will of God.
But if you want to say that God is whatever created the earth, that God is love, that God is manifest wherever there is harmony and peace, well, I can get behind that.
What I like about that definition is that we, as men and women, can take a more active role in the manifestation of God. Be more loving and you'll be closer to God. Make beautiful music and you can experience heaven on earth. Do something to preserve this beautiful planet and feel the transcendence of knowing that you are part of the solution and not part of the problem.
Just go out in the world and feel it.
